Although he had shown no inclination after Beware of the Trains to compile a second collection himself, the rest of the short stories Crispin had written for newspapers and magazines were finally collected a year after his death and published as Fen Country. The book originally comprised a mixture of Gervase Fen cases and one-off stories, but for this new volume we have separated out the standalone stories, which all now appear in Part Three.
