This warm and cosy cowl is made in the round using a chunky yarn and 2 x 1 rib pattern which looks just like knitting. The simple, unfussy design makes it perfect for both men and women and it is sure to keep you warm on chilly days.
7mm double-ended Tunisian hook
Aran weight (10-ply) yarn in the same colour:
A used for forward pass – 50g
B used for return pass – 50g
15 rows x 14 sts in rib pattern

Foundation Row: Using Yarn A, ch 110. Being careful not to twist ch, join with a sl st into first ch to form a circle. Pick up a loop from back bump in next ch and place marker in first st. *Continue picking up stitches this way until you have filled about half of your hook, flip the hook and begin the return pass for these stitches using Yarn B. Repeat from * until you reach marker in first st.
THE FOLLOWING ROUNDS ARE WORKED IN A SPIRAL. MOVE YOUR MARKER UP TO THE FIRST STITCH OF EACH ROUND AS YOU WORK.
Round 2: With Yarn A Tps1, *Tks 2, Tps 1. Flip work and return with Yarn B once you have enough sts on your hook. Repeat from * to end.
Continue working in spiral rounds as for Round 2 until your work measures 25cm (10in) or your preferred width.
Bind off and weave in ends.
