There is something very soothing about creating rows of zig zags. Simple increases and decreases create this striking pattern and the colour blocking creates a modern aesthetic. Many different looks can be achieved with this stitch pattern by changing the width of the stripes and your use of colour.
5mm Tunisian hook with 40cm (16in) cable, or a straight Tunisian hook can also be used.

M1tb (make 1 – top bar): insert hook under top loop of horizontal bar before next st, yo, pull up loop and leave on hook

Tdc3tog: yo, insert hook under next 3 sts, yo and pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook
Tunisian Slip Stitch (Tsl): pick up stitch onto hook without working

Foundation Row: Using Colour A, ch 97. Pick up a loop from back bump in 2nd ch from hook, and in each ch to end, leaving all loops on hook. Return.
Row 2: *M1tb, Tss 6, Tss3tog, Tss 6, M1tb, Tss 1. Repeat from * to last st, replacing last Tss1 with an end st. Return.
Repeat Row 2 for remaining rows following the colour sequence as indicated below
Rows 3-4: Continue with Colour A, changing to Colour B on the last 2 lps of return in Row 4. Don’t cut Colour A yet.

Join Colour E with a sl st to top right hand edge and work as follows:

Row 2: Skip next st, Tss next 6 sts and pick up 1 loop from edge of next peak (8 lps on hook). Return: yo, pull through 2 lps up to last 3 lps, yo pull through 3 lps.
Row 3: Skip next st, Tss next 5 sts and pick up 1 loop from edge of next peak (7 lps on hook). Return: yo, pull through 2 lps up to last 3 lps, yo pull through 3 lps.
Row 4: Skip next st, Tss next 4 sts and pick up 1 loop from edge of next peak (6 lps on hook). Return: yo, pull through 2 lps up to last 3 lps, yo pull through 3 lps.

IN ROW 1 YOU'LL PICK UP 7 LOOPS AND THEN SKIP ONE STITCH BEFORE PICKING UP THE NEXT STITCH ON THE EDGE OF THE NEXT PEAK – THIS IS CORRECT.
Turn work upside down and join Colour B with a sl st to the lower outside edge of the first chevron. Fill in the gaps as follows:
Row 1: Pick up 7 loops along edge (8 lps on hook). Return.
Row 2: Skip next st, Tss 4, sk 1, work end st (6 lps on hook). Return.
Row 3: Skip next st, Tss 2, sk 1, work end st (4 lps on hook). Return.
Row 4: Tss2tog, work end st (3 lps on hook). Return: yo, draw through 3 lps on hook.
Work 3 sl st along edge to top of next peak

Finish off cushion edge by working 1 sc into each stitch along the top edge and fasten off.
Work as for Front up to Row 40. Don’t change colour at end of row.
Row 41: Straighten top – Continuing in Colour D, *Tss 3, Tdc 3, Tdc3tog, Tdc 3, Tss 3, Tsl. Repeat from * to last st replacing last Tsl with an end st. Return.
Bind off.
Work as for Front.
Foundation Row: Using Colour E, ch 97. Pick up a loop from back bump in 2nd ch from hook, and in each ch to end, leaving all loops on hook. Return.
Rows 2-18: Work as for Front starting from Row 38 through to Row 54.
Bind off.
Work as for Front.
Using your 5mm crochet hook join Colour E with a sl st to the middle stitch of the first peak, ch 6, sl st back into beginning ch to form a loop.
Fasten off and repeat for remaining 5 peaks.
Weave ends in.
With right sides together, lay top and bottom back sections onto front piece, overlapping the back bottom section approximately 3cm (11⁄8in) over the back top section. Pin in place.
Using 5mm crochet hook and any colour, join the pieces together with a sl st worked into each st and through all layers around the cushion.
Turn cushion the right way out. Sew buttons on and place cushion insert inside cover.
