Bourbon Retailers
Although you can buy bottled bourbons in the gift shops of the distilleries, the selection is much greater at liquor stores. Of course, the average liquor store in Kentucky stocks a lot more bourbons than comparable retailers in other states. Some stores make a point of carrying a selection of limited-edition bottlings, and many have their own bottlings from personally selected barrels. The following liquor retailers are recommended for their quality and diversity. Most host frequent bourbon tastings, often with master distillers on hand, so contact them to see what they have on their calendars during your visit. Several also have information about their bourbon selections on their websites. Keep in mind that alcohol cannot be sold in Kentucky on Sundays until 1 p.m.
