Hot Croissant Sarnies
SERVES 4
4 fresh croissants
2 bananas, sliced
almond butter
fresh berries (a mix)
whipped cream or yoghurt
Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F / gas mark 6.
Slice open the croissants like a sandwich and lay on a baking tray (pan) with the cut sides facing up. Transfer to the oven and warm up for 5 minutes.
Remove from the oven, transfer to plates and top one half with a selection of toppings, treating the open croissants like pancakes, then close to create sarnies. I like to have all the toppings out on the table so people can build their own.
(You can also do this with ham and cheese: lay the cheese on one half of the open croissants, warm in the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese, then add the ham and close to make sarnies.)
