Chapter 30.

HE’D gladly face a million Incubi down if it meant his Rajni would look at him just like that. She wrapped her arms around his neck and Adric pulled her up so that her legs went around his waist.

Aodhan finished giving orders to the security staff that would be transferring the demons they’d kept alive for questioning back to the area in the lower level of the Family Hall just for that purpose. Aodhan took his female in his arms and lifted her, as well. Adric suspected she could have walked, but he did not blame his brother.

What male wanted his female to be frightened of a demon attack? Miranda was giving him an earful, telling him he was never allowed to scare her like that again.

The same kind of a lecture Aodhan was getting from his own female, wasn’t it?

Adric grinned and kissed his female once, hotly. “You can give me a lecture when we are alone in our suite. Now we must tend to your friends. My brother’s Rajnis. And your new sisters-in-law.”

“Don’t they get a choice?”

“We all do. They can refuse the Rajni bond. I will not lie to you about that. But it has consequences. Affects the heart and the spirit. I will not deny that.”

“I can tell you no?”

“If that is what you wish.” He stopped walking. “Is that what you wish, Miranda? To be apart from me always? Tell me now.”
