IAHANNA took a few days to wake up. Miranda watched Adric’s brother nearly go insane during those days. Cayri seemed ok with Dalric, but she wasn’t exactly too happy to have found her mate.
Miranda spent some time with Cayri during those days while they waited for Iahanna to wake. She really did like the other women. Petey sure did; he’d actually stayed in the healing hall overnight that first night, curled around Iahanna’s feet.
It was nice to have friends again. And everyone just assumed she and Cayri and Mallory and the girl Mara and the healer Lana were sisters-in-law now.
Not to mention the weird fact that there were more Tanisses around than she’d ever have expected.
It took some getting used to.
Petey liked living in the Great Hall. He trailed after the Border collie she’d seen that first day like... a puppy and his mother. The Border collie didn’t seem to mind, and Miranda had watched her give Petey a bath one morning. Even her dog had family now.
Adric kept every promise he’d made to her, treating her like she was exactly who and what he’d always wanted. Pretty soon she just got it. Understood what Rajni meant.
And she was just fine with it. Every last vampire-y, destined mate bit of it.
