What about other

lottery books

There are quite a few books on the subject of beating or winning the lottery. I have to be honest, as a programmer, math geek, and “industry insider” I have a sick fascination with these books and consistently check the bestseller lists to see if something new has come out. Usually, the book disappoints and I lay it down shaking my head in amusement. They try to take complex mathematical principles and turn them into easy to understand formulas that seem to work, but just don’t. I laugh (and cry a little bit on the inside) when I see these.

But every so often I come across a title that piques my interest due to its ability to make me think.

Two books actually piqued my interest that I’d recommend checking out. Not that I endorse these titles as the way to subvert the system in order to make money winning the lottery, but they do give you a fresh perspective I think in understanding how the lottery works and how to play it.

Start Winning The Lottery - Powerful Strategies for Winning at Powerball, Mega Millions, Scratch, and Most Other Lotto Games by Noah Canfield

Again, without actually recommending this book for you to read as a way of making money winning the lottery, the book brings up some good points about the algorithm the lottery uses to formulate its numbers. While I’ve given as much information about the actual algorithm and method of choosing the numbers as I can legally give you (I really don’t want to go to jail), this book brings up an important point about the maths. It’s one of the only ones I’ve seen that got this right actually.

Before I get into that, Canfield brings up several important points about playing the lottery, ones that other authors sometimes dismiss or forget all together. Do not go into debt to play the lottery. Buying tickets with your credit card, or taking out a loan to try the latest technique is a seriously flawed way to invest your money. It won’t work, you’ll end up broke, or broker, and you won’t be rich.

The best part about this book is his drawing his conclusions from a research report entitled “A Statistical Analysis of Popular Lottery ‘Winning’ Strategies” by Albert C. Chen, Y. Helio Yang, and F. Fred Chen. The report was published and printed under the sponsorship of Bentley University and the paper may be found by doing an Internet search on “Lottery ANOVA.” Since he has at least read a research report, I place him far ahead of the majority of authors of lottery winning systems.

The report shows that you can take the historical numbers played and run them through a high-low analysis to find which ones are over-represented. Since all numbers are statistically likely to be played, if your chosen lottery has mostly high numbers, then you might have greater odds with the low numbers. That’s still not a great way to play the lottery but it’s a hair better than other systems and based on actual math, not some made up system that looks like math.

Quantum Lottery: Using Modern Scientific Principles to Win Any Lottery in the World! by Sofia Louise Anderson

Okay, I admit, this one is a ways out there. I’m not all for the Secret or Laws of Attraction, which this book sounds like admittedly, but when you read it there are some interesting scientific principles at work here. It sounds like Anderson actually knows a thing or two about quantum physics and is honestly trying to help readers. I can’t validate whether or not her claims are true (she says she’s won millions but I couldn’t find any record of that, though I don’t have access to all the records) but she speaks with a compelling authority.

Her basic premise, though she goes into far more detail, is this: quantum phenomena are influenced by mental intentions, for some reason we have yet to determine, so we can influence the results of random phenomena. Since the lottery draw systems are based on random number generators, it’s not impossible that they can be influenced on the quantum level by intentions. I’ve seen the research, it is actually possible. How likely it is depends on several unknown factors, which is why i can’t endorse a system like this, but I can say that the research on quantum mechanics is interesting and applying it to the lottery is novel. There are lots of “power of intention” books, but few are based on solid scientific theory.

While I don’t recommend you read this as a solid way to make money from the lottery, it’s an interesting read for those who want to know more about interactive quantum mechanics and how they influence the real world.

Now you know more than the average joe trying to play the lottery for a win. You understand how the system works, how the numbers are actually chosen, what to do if you happen to win, how to (not) scam the system, and how to get ahead and win if you are lucky and smart. Most importantly, if you win you need to be smart and realize that this is a gift you’ve been given, so don’t squander it. It’s something you were given to make the world a better place, do your best.

Good luck on your next play and I hope that you win!
