WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE

The Christmas movie It’s a Wonderful Life follows a banker named George Bailey, who finds no value in his life until he sees what the world would have been had he never been born. I love this movie—as many others do—and the thing I think about most from it is not any scene in particular. I think of a tiny prop on the set of Bailey’s bank: a framed sign that reads ALL YOU CAN TAKE WITH YOU IS THAT WHICH YOU’VE GIVEN AWAY.

What I take from this is that, in the end, we don’t have a collection of our own achievements or even of our hard work. We have what we gave to others, whether it was time, energy, money, or our hearts.

WHAT CAN YOU GIVE TODAY?
