A classic White Russian is two parts vodka to one part coffee liqueur, topped with cream, and sometimes served over ice. In cold, dark, dreary December, on a night when you need to wrap gifts for your coworkers, the slow-cooked, steamy version of this cocktail will revive your Christmas spirit.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
2 cups heavy cream
6 cups milk (not skim)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup coffee liqueur
1 cup vodka
1. Combine cream, milk, and vanilla in the slow cooker. Cook on Low for 11/2 to 2 hours.
2. When ready to serve, add coffee liqueur and vodka. Stir, heat through, and ladle into mugs.
