Makes 4 to 6 servings.
6 pounds pork spareribs
Cold water
2 cups ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 clove garlic, crushed
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Cut ribs into chunks of 2 to 3 ribs each. Put into the slow cooker. Add cold water to cover the meat. Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for about 8 hours or on High for about 5 hours. Transfer to a plate and allow to cool for about 30 minutes.
2. In a large bowl, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, cayenne, chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, and garlic. Stir to combine thoroughly.
3. Dunk ribs in the barbeque sauce and put on a platter. Grill the ribs for about 20 to 30 minutes over medium heat, applying more sauce as they cook. Pass the sauce when ready to eat.
