Cameron writes and edits guidebooks for Rick Steves. For this book he explored Greece’s evocative ancient sites, windswept seascapes, delightfully chaotic cities, and rollicking tavernas—along the way discovering a new favorite dessert (kataifi). Cameron lives in Seattle with his wife, Shawna.
Gene is the co-author of a dozen Rick Steves books. For this book he wrote material on Greece’s art, history, and contemporary culture. When not traveling, Gene enjoys composing music, recovering from his 1973 trip to Europe with Rick, and living everyday life with his daughter.
Anastasia, a native of Greece, leads Rick Steves tours. Her first name comes from a Greek word that means “to resurrect,” and that’s what she does as a guide: resurrects the past. For this book, she researched Athens. Ask her what her favorite Greek island is, and she’ll answer, “All of them!”
Before Gretchen became an online editor for Rick Steves, she lived in Europe for four years: studying in Scotland, teaching in Germany, and traveling constantly. She still can’t believe that, after three weeks careening down Greek roads while updating this book, she never once hit a dog, cat, tortoise, moped, or old lady.
