CALM
Stay in the moment.
Can you learn swimming when you are drowning? That might be
difficult.
To learn anything, we need to be calm. Stay cool-headed with less
noise in your mind by using the Coping Breathing Space practice stated
below. Be in the moment and not get trapped in your thoughts about
the past or worries and anxieties about the future. Once your mind is
calm, you can make PERRI wise decisions.
Let’s practise this Coping Breathing Space (CBS) daily for at least
three times a day to calm our mind. It’s as simple as ABC:
Awareness
of your body:
Pause everything that you are doing. Let it go.
Bring yourself into the present
moment by standing tall like
a giraffe and in a comfortable
posture. If possible, close your eyes.
Becoming aware of your body
and the surface upon which you
are sitting or standing. How does
it feel like standing here?
Notice or mentally scan your
body from your feet and all the
way to your head.
Then ask yourself: What am I thinking
right now? How am I feeling?
