deiwear

Overdecorated underwear will show through close-fitting garments. Underwear should co-ordinate with the colours of your outer garments, and should not be seen unless you’re making a fashion statement.

Bras

A bra is an important investment as it provides essential support for your breasts as well as creating the foundation for your outfit.

</ Buy bras for different outfits and occasions: seamless, strapless, sports and so on.

y Get measured professionally once a year and try on a range of styles from different brands - some cuts will fit you better than others.

y The back of your bra should sit in the middle of your back.

y Your breasts should not hang over the cups.

y If you have heavy breasts, a bra with nonstretch straps will be more supportive.

/ If you have a fleshy back three hooks are better than two.

y Fasten a new bra on the widest hooks and move inwards as the bra stretches with wear.

Knickers/Panties

There is no excuse for visible panty lines (VPLs); with so much choice available, you should be able to find a cut and fit that's right for you.

y Buy bigger size panties than you think you will need. This will eliminate visible panty lines

by ensuring that the elastic doesn’t cut into your flesh. Panties are also notorious for shrinking in the wash.

y If you need tummy control, make sure the fit is good and that your flesh doesn’t roll over the top when you sit down.

Tghts/pantyhose

A woman used not to be considered properly dressed unless she wore tights/pantyhose, whatever the weather. Nowadays, unless you work in a formal environment or are attending a formal event, it is usually acceptable to go without tights/pantyhose in summer, as long as your legs are hair- and blemish-free. However, always wear tights/pantyhose with a suit.

y Natural-coloured tights/pantyhose are suitable for most occasions.

y To elongate the legs, wear tights/pantyhose that are the same colour as your skirt or shoes.

y Balance the denier of your tights/pantyhose with the fabric weight of your skirt or trousers. In summer, with a lightweight fabric, seven to ten denier is ideal. In winter, with corduroy or tweed, you may consider opaques (30+ denier).

y Textured tights/pantyhose will give your outfit a fun twist, but they can add volume to the leg.
