FRONTISPIECE. Left: Compsosoma oculata Lingafelter & Wappes. This 10–14 mm long species is most similar to C. monnei Martins & Galileo in size, shape, color, and pubescence. It differs in having the elytron with the angled postmedian white fascia extending posterolaterally into a circular eyespot. The species is endemic to Bolivia and known only from Refugio Los Volcanes in Santa Cruz Department. Above: Erythrochiton jucundum (Gounelle). This is a medium-sized (10–14 mm), orange and black, diurnal species with distinctive aposematic coloration. It can be locally abundant on Croton blossoms in the humid Chaco of Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia.
