One of the great things about having a farmers’ market stand is that we are on the front lines of seasonal produce. Two stands down from our booth are our friends at Baird Family Orchards. They grow a variety of stone fruit, such as peaches, plums, apricots, and nectarines. My daughter and I look forward to peach season and are the first buyers of the lovely first-of-the-season Harken peaches, followed by the Fairhavens, and finally the Sunhavens. Packed full of calcium and fiber, the skin of the peach is often peeled and left behind, but I encourage you to eat the skins too so your body can enjoy the vitamin A and vitamin C.
