Clay
It was like watching slow motion. One minute Jillian was heading towards the barn and the next I watched her pass out on the ground. I tried to get to her as quickly as I could. Scooping her up, I carried her into the house and took her upstairs to the room I had been sleeping in. I dampened a washcloth to run over her face. She didn’t seem overheated or anything. She started waking up; her eyes softened when she saw me.
“Baby, Jilly, are you okay.” I was freaking out. “Why don’t I take you to the emergency room and we can get you checked out.”
She grabbed my hand and shook her head. Biting her lip, she looked into my eyes and started bawling. Oh hell, I did not do well with her tears. I pulled her into my arms and held her tight. God this felt good. I missed holding her. She started to quiet down and wiped her eyes.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” I lifted her chin, so she was looking at me. We had not been this close in over a month and my body was reacting to hers the way it always did. She straddled my lap and kissed me. I was surprised and didn’t even think before I pulled her tighter and started to devour her mouth. She tasted so good, and it had been so long. She threaded her fingers through my hair and moaned. She reached down to undo my pants and I reached under her dress to rip off her thong. After she had me out, she rose up and impaled herself on my cock. She was so wet and all we had done was kiss. We groaned together as she rode me, it was like we were combustible together. No matter that we were fighting, the sex was till off the charts good. I leaned back a little and watched as she slipped one hand between us to rub her clit. When she started coming around my cock I came with her. I wasn’t ready for the moment to be over, so I pulled her down on my chest and held her while our breathing evened out.
“I need to move so I can clean up.” She said with a little giggle. I reached over for the cloth that I had been using to wipe her brow and cleaned us both, then tossed it toward the bathroom and pulled her back into my arms.
“Can we just lay here like this for a while? I miss holding you in my arms.” I asked her, afraid she was going to bolt. The distance between us lately made my heart hurt. She was my best friend and my lover. I wanted her back. I ran my fingers through her long dark hair. “What did you want to talk about?”
“I need to sit up and look at you for this.” She whispered nervously. I helped her to sit up and scooted against the headboard. She took my hand in hers and looked in my eyes. “First, I should tell you that I am deeply sorry for not believing you about Teddy. I think deep down I didn’t believe he was yours but seeing the resemblance just kicked me in the teeth. Here we were trying to get pregnant and in walks this woman with a little clone of you. I was so jealous I couldn’t think straight.”
“Yeah, that hurt baby. I have not looked at another woman since you came into my life.” I told her, looking her in the eyes. She nodded with a tear rolling down her face.
“I have been feeling off the last couple of months and when Connie came out of the clinic I decided to go in and talk to Dr. Parker.” She looked up at me and a smile broke across her beautiful face. “We are going to have a baby, I’m eleven weeks pregnant.”
“You’re going to have my baby?” I whispered in awe. I reached over and put my hand on her stomach. “We made a baby together Jilly bean.”
I looked at my wife and decided I was moving home tonight. I wasn’t asking. I grabbed her face and pulled her in for a kiss.
“Connie is supposed to move here with Teddy. Will you come home?” She looked up at me and I could see the apprehension on her face that I would refuse. Part of me thought she deserved to be nervous, but she was pregnant, and her hormones must be all over the place. I couldn’t bring myself to hurt her.
“Yes baby, I’ll come home. Let me throw my clothes in my duffle.” I got off the bed and tossed my clothes in my duffle bag. We stripped the bed and remade it with fresh sheets. I figured he would probably put Connie in this room. After gathering my things, we went downstairs together. Teddy was playing in front of the television with Sadie while Connie and Hank talked at the table.
Connie got up and smiled at Hank, she was blushing. This could be interesting. She walked over to where Sadie and Teddy were while we talked to Hank for a minute.
“So did you finally pull your head out of your ass and realize this man is all yours?” Hank teased Jilly. She punched him in the arm. “It’s about time, I was getting tired of seeing his ugly mug every morning.”
“Whatever, you know I got all the good looks and the hair.” I threw back at him. He started to say something when we heard Connie gasp. We all turned to see her holding a picture in her hand. Her face was pale as a ghost, and she kept looking from the picture to me and back. I walked over and took the picture from her hand. Looking down it was a photo of Blake and myself after he won his first rodeo. I looked back at her and raised my eyebrow.
“You thought I was Blake.” I made it a statement not a question. “Didn’t you know his name?”
“I was a little drunk and I remembered his name was Wheeler and he said he worked at Wheeler Tours. When I walked in that day, I assumed it was you and when she called you Clay…. I mean it sounds similar and the two of you could pass for twins.” She looked like she might pass out. Hank took her arm and urged her to sit down on the couch. “I’m so sorry and so embarrassed.”
“I’m not going to say it’s okay, because it’s not. I will say that I can see how you would have mixed us up. Blake was home recuperating from a rodeo injury and worked for us to supplement his income. So, he didn’t lie to you, but he is also not the settling down kind. I do think you should tell him. Even if the two of you don’t want to be together, he deserves to know he is a father.” I pulled Jilly into my lap as we talked. Sadie had taken Teddy to the kitchen to fix him a bottle.
“Oh God Jillian, I’m so sorry. You must hate me.” she said with tears rolling down her face. Hank rubbed her back gently. She was clearly mortified. “I had just found my fiancé` in bed with another woman and decided to come back home to start over. I was drinking and all in my feelings when I met him. He was charming and sexy. I needed to feel desired, and he did that. I woke up the next morning and he was gone. I decided that it was just a night of fun and went on with my life but then a few weeks later I started to get sick from the smell of coffee and other foods. I found out I was pregnant and freaked. I wasn’t going to say anything because it has just been a one-night stand, but I lost my job and had to move out of my apartment.”
“Okay, take a deep breath. You have a home and a job now. You also have a sitter to help out. Let’s see if Sadie minds watching Teddy while we follow Clay and Jillian home to get your things?” Hank said as he headed to the kitchen to find his daughter.
“Thank you for taking me in and giving me a job. I knew it was temporary and it was incredibly generous of you, especially given the circumstances.” Connie said as Hank came back into the room with his keys.
“Okay, it’s getting late, let’s get this show on the road.” Hank said as we all headed out the door.
I followed Jillian home and when we pulled up to our house, I was never so glad to be home. I walked over to her car to open her door and she smiled as I took her hand. We went inside and I tossed my bag in the corner. Hank pulled up with Connie a few minutes later and they packed up her stuff quickly.
“I’ll call Blake tomorrow and tell him that he needs to come home for a visit.” Hank said as he led Connie outside. “We need to get that done.”
“Sounds good, we will talk tomorrow.” I said as I locked up behind them. I turned to see my wife standing behind me. “Have you eaten anything today?”
She shook her head. I picked up the phone and called in a pizza order then went to find her something to snack on while we waited for it.
“You are growing my baby inside you. You have to eat.” I told her as I put a plate of cheese, crackers and some carrots with ranch in front of her. “This will help settle your tummy while we wait for the pizza to arrive.”
