Jack McCall was acquitted of the murder by a miner’s court (with no jurisdiction) the day after murdering Wild Bill Hickok. McCall fled Deadwood but was eventually captured, convicted, and hanged in March 1877 by legal authorities of Dakota Territory. He was buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Deadwood, Lawrence County, South Dakota.
Calamity Jane died in 1903 and was buried alongside Wild Bill Hickok.
Johnny E. Perrett eventually found a gold nugget that weighed over seven troy ounces, believed to be one of the largest nuggets taken from the Deadwood area. He married Mary “Mollie” B. Hamilton in 1907. He died in 1943 and was buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
