Green and blue the reedy shallows
Of Yuen Yang Lake stretch away
To the horizon. Boating in
The beautiful Spring weather,
A sudden shower drives me
To the shelter of a tree
Overhanging the bank.
Rising mist envelops the
Flowering peach trees. Rain and fog
Obscure everything. I
Can no longer tell where I am.
I try to find my way back.
At last I see the willows
Beside my landing and boat house.
Birds are singing in the trees.
When I come ashore I discover
I have been gone for ten years.
