Epilogue
What God Has Joined Together
A month later, Ginger walked into the teacher’s lounge and found a message in her mailbox:
Ginger, call me, at the studio, as soon as you get this message, Joseph
Ginger called Joseph from the telephone on the conference table.
“WGN News. How may I direct your call?” a receptionist answered.
“Hi, this is Ginger Brown. I’m returning Joseph Bank’s call.”
“Yes, Miss Brown, he was expecting your call but he had to leave the studio urgently. He left a message that he’ll give you a ring this evening.”
“Okay, thank you.” Ginger disconnected the call and dialed Joseph’s cellular number. Her call was sent directly to his voicemail. She didn’t leave a message. Ginger went back to her class.

That evening Ginger answered her doorbell and saw Joseph down on bended knee. Her heart skipped a beat. She looked at him curiously. “What are you doing?”
“Didn’t the receptionist give you my message?” he asked.
Ginger thought about the phone call. “She said you were gonna give me a ring this evening.”
“It’s six o’clock in the evening,” Joseph said.
She was even more curious. Ginger wondered what he was up to. “Okay. And?”
Joseph reached in his shirt pocket and presented Ginger with a two-carat platinum pear-shaped diamond ring. “What are you doing for the rest of your life?”
