THE INSPIRATION FOR Home Sweet Home came from an article I read about Nowzad—a charity set up to relieve the suffering of dogs, cats, and even donkeys in Afghanistan. They provide and maintain rescue facilities for the care and treatment of these animals. I read the many rescue/reunion stories they have on their website, and my heart was deeply touched.
