Most of all I want to thank my husband, Joe Stabile. His unending commitment to me and to our marriage is both honoring and challenging as he insists that we commit our lives to building the kingdom. Our children, son-in-laws and grandchildren are my motivation for wanting to do my part to make the world a better place, and I am so grateful for each of them. Thank you Joey and Billy, Will, Sam; Jenny and Cory, Noah, Elle, Piper; Joel, Joley; and B. J. and Devon for oh so much!
Father Richard Rohr invited me into the study of this ancient wisdom, so whatever my teaching has become is easily traced back to him. There are no words to adequately thank the thousands of people who have shared their weekends and their stories with me over the past twenty-five years. They are the reason the information I gathered about the Enneagram became wisdom.
I would have never imagined myself coauthoring a book like this, but Ian Cron did, and I am grateful. His respect for my work with the Enneagram and his way of making room for me in this project has given me a new energy for the challenges that are yet to come. During that time Joe and I ate dinner at the Chang’s in Dallas. My fortune cookie contained this message: “You are a lover of books. You should write a book some day.”
