BATHROOM

Gone are the days when women were practically forced to wear rollers in their hair and lipstick on their pouts. In today’s world, women are choosing beauty routines that are the easiest and most comfortable for them, ranging from totally bare to completely made-up.

I personally enjoy getting made up (except on weekends and beach vacations—those are perfect times to go au naturel), but I don’t always have the time. I’ve usually got about 15 to 20 minutes tops to get both my hair and my makeup done in the morning—and that’s starting with wet hair. (PS: Isn’t blow-drying the worst, most time-sucking thing ever? When will someone invent a new solution for that?) Naturally, I’ve had to find a routine that works.

Whatever your beauty preference, there are many ways to make yourself just as bright, bold, and beautiful as the pros would make you at the salon or makeup counter . . . no stylists needed. In fact, when I started this career, I used to pay a stylist to do my hair and makeup anytime I had to do a photo or video shoot—which was quite often! Now, though, I’ve been taught the secrets, and I feel confident enough in my DIY beauty skills to not need a pro at my side any longer. And because my mother always told me to pay it forward, it’s time to pass those tricks on to you.
