Another Non-Recipe Donut for the First-Timer!

image

I could have easily called these desperation donuts, because one day my gang wanted treats, and I just wasn’t in the mood to put an intricate recipe together.  Instead, I searched my pantry and found a packet of chocolate chip muffin mix and decided to make it into donuts.  Wow, am I ever glad that I did, because this recipe produces some wonderful results with minimal effort.  I split the mix into half, using whole milk in one and chocolate in the other.  Hands down, we all loved the chocolate milk one better, and that’s the only version I make now.

Ingredients

1 packet Martha White chocolate chip muffin mix (7.4 oz.), split in half

1⁄4 cup whole milk (2% can be substituted.)

1⁄4 cup chocolate milk, whole (2% can be substituted.)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine half the mix with whole milk and the other half with chocolate milk.

Bake for 10–15 minutes in cupcake trays or small donut molds.

Once the donuts are done, remove to a cooling rack.

Makes 5–9 donuts, depending on baking method
