Six weeks had passed since Sadie accepted her new life as a concubine to her three vampire mates. She looked back on her time as a child and could now appreciate the orphanage not adopting her to a family. A human mother, father, and siblings would not have understood the needs of a blood demon…not that the orphanage did, either, but she could think, possibly, they might have.
Since starting her new life as a concubine, the blood from her vampires changed her life completely. Upon reading of the addictions to vampire blood, she understood how a blood demon could become out of control. She gained a new understanding, as well, to the life of vampires and how the need for blood, and the thirst, could cause their kind to spiral out of control. It didn’t make what Stanley did to her any better, or excuse his behavior, but it helped her understand.
She had a meeting scheduled with Malik this afternoon to discuss a proposition in setting up a safe haven for rogue vampires. But first, she needed to finish the novel she was working on—a reverse harem story of a woman discovering a new world where vampires were prevalent, and there was a five to one population where men were dominate. She grinned as she typed the words THE END, then saved her document and closed the laptop.
“Mistress? Your guest has arrived,” called one of the house hands.
“Show them in,” she said, and stood from her chair.
A photographer was invited to the mansion to capture an image of Sadie and her men. After hearing Olivia’s vampire, Landon, was a painter, she requested his time to paint a portrait of her new family. She figured if Landon had a photographic image to use, instead of the four of them standing in one position for hours, it would save her little family from becoming realistic statues.
She stood in front of the desk in the library and looked upon the now bare wall between walls of bookshelves. It almost begged for a golden framed portrait.
“Miss Sadie,” called a male’s voice behind her.
She turned and the hired photographer, Griffin, stood in the entrance of the study. “Hi there, and, please, just Sadie.”
“Sadie, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for your requisition for the family photograph.”
“Well, you came highly recommended.”
The man smiled and looked to his feet, then back to her. “Where would you like to do this shoot?”
She motioned toward the door where he stood. “If you’ll follow me toward the den, there’s a fireplace with a wingback chair.” She left the study and her emerald green dress flowed across the floor, almost as if she were floating. As she passed through the hall, she glanced to her left and found a few staff members of the house watching. The one, Claudia, who had asked the questions that night she was with William, bowed her head. When the woman lifted her gaze, Sadie smiled and bowed her head in return to the woman.
Sadie took some time with the help around the mansion, getting to know everyone’s names, their families, and life aspirations. She was able to spend more one on one time with Claudia since that night and grew to like the woman. What could have been a bad situation turned worse became a confidante. Claudia had become something like a motherly figure to Sadie and she treasured their friendship. William even melted his cold exterior toward her.
As they entered the den, William, Charles, and Adam stood around the wingback chair. They looked toward Sadie as she entered the room with Griffin. All three smiled and their gazes on her were like depths of love in uncharted waters of the ocean she longed to dive into.
All three wore tuxedos and each male had a different rose tucked into their jacket lapel. William’s was red; Adam’s was yellow, and Charles’ was white.
The red rose signified love, passion, beauty, courage, and respect. The white rose stood for purity, innocence, silence, secrecy, and heavenly. The yellow rose meant joy, delight, friendship, new beginnings, and falling in love.
They were the perfect trifecta of flowers, and her men were the perfect trio of vampires. She was fortunate to have them, but they would argue they were the lucky ones.
The chair was an off-white color and sat in front of the tall fireplace. Above the mantel sat a trophy, a vase, and a trio of balls in a glass bowl.
Sadie took her seat in the chair and crossed one leg over the other. Griffin’s eyes widened and he pointed to her shoes.
“Please, tell me you’re not wearing those for the picture?”
She pointed her foot outward and looked at her green converse shoes. They were the perfect shade of green to match her dress. “Why not?”
“Well, my dear, the dress is spectacular, like a princess. The shoes do nothing for the outfit. It’s out of place.”
She smiled and held her hand up to grasp William’s arm as he started toward the photographer. “Well, I find the shoes are a perfect fit to the dress. I, too, once was out of place in life. Now that I have a family of my own, the shoes represent me. The dress is a symbol of my men.”
“I’m not a dress, woman,” Adam growled under his breath.
“It’s a metaphor, love,” she told him and continued. “Now...” She turned her attention back to Griffin. “The Covenant referred you to me. I’ll be happy to report back that you offended us with your out of turn remarks, or you can mind your business and take our pictures today. The choice is yours.”
“Get’em,” Charles whispered next to her ear. “I love it when you take charge. Fucking hot, love.”
She smiled and patted his cheek, then situated herself in the chair once more. To Sadie, she felt she was their queen and her vampires were her kings. William stood behind her, Charles to his left, Adam his right.
“Right,” Griffin started. “My apologies. No offense was intended.” He raised his camera and raised his brows. “Are we ready?”
“Yes,” she said and sat straighter. She imagined a tiara crowning her head as she was the center of her vampires’ universe, and they were hers.
Flash.
Flash.
Flash.
Griffin looked at his camera and smiled. “I think I captured everyone perfectly. Would you like to see?”
“Of course,” Sadie told him and motioned the man forward.
He turned the camera toward her, and she looked upon the image with a grin.
“You look like royalty,” William told her.
“Our queen,” Charles added.
“You’re the only one I would ever serve, baby,” Adam said, and knelt in front of her, followed by William and Charles.
“May I have my camera? I’d like to capture this,” Griffin asked.
She nodded and handed it back to him.
“Lean in toward Adam, like you’re going to kiss him, and reach toward William’s outer cheek. Then, extend your right leg toward Charles. Charles, I want you to take her leg and lean into her as if you’re about to claim your prize.”
“Ahh, yeah, I can do that,” he said with a smirk. “You ready, love?” Charles took her leg and leaned in, then inhaled. “Fuck, I want to lick you so fucking bad.”
Sadie ran her tongue over her lips.
Griffin cleared his throat and Sadie turned toward Adam as she reached for William.
Flash.
Flash.
“Perfect,” Griffin said.
Sadie’s breathing became heavier as she stared into Adam’s eyes. William ran his hand up her inner thigh and Charles began to kiss along the length of her bare leg.
“Umm, I’ll, umm, see my way out,” Griffin mumbled.
“Wait,” Sadie said and removed herself from her men, then stood. “I want to see what you captured.”
Griffin nodded and handed over his camera. She felt her skin blush as she took in the image. She was a goddess surrounded by her subjects. It was sensual and erotic, yet beautiful.
“You captured us perfectly. I want this one as well.” She handed the camera back. “Thank you, Griffin, for your time. I’m sure you can see your way out?” She turned back to her vampires and smiled. “I have some men that need tending.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
She waited until she heard the door to the den close, then she motioned for her men with one finger. Like lightning, they were on her, kissing, sucking, and nibbling along her exposed skin.
“Someone has too many clothes on,” she whispered.
“I’m going to rip this dress from your body,” William growled.
She laughed and held her hands up. “You do that, then you’ll have some making up to do. I happen to love this dress.” She turned and rested her hands on her hips. “Unzip me, please.”
William’s fingers gently slid the zipper down, the backs of his fingers gliding down her spine. She closed her eyes as the flesh on her skin stood to attention. The garment slid down her body and she stepped out of it. Turning to her men, she stood naked, no bra or panties were worn under the dress. All she had on were the green converse. She smiled and held her arms out for her men, giving herself to them, for now, for always, forever.
