Bees sometimes collect juice from fermented fruits, and, yes, they can get tipsy. Also, honey that hasn't dried quickly enough can ferment, creating mead that can likewise knock bees off their feet. It turns out that the effect of alcohol on bees is very similar to its effect on humans. They wobble when they walk. They have more flying accidents. They become more aggressive. They have more trouble learning new things and finding their way back to the hive. There are a few things that are definitely different (intoxication from a single binge can last as long as forty-eight hours) and arguably different (drunk bees stick out their tongues more often than sober bees).
