A Note from the Author

I hope you’ve enjoyed Mel and Fitz’s story, Book 3 in my Upstart Christmas Brides Series!

Fitz first appeared as the “villain” of sorts in Book 2, Convincing the Countess, as the brother of that story’s hero, George Lovelace. George, in turn, first appeared as a secondary character (another “villain”!) in The Duke She Despised Book 1 of the series.

Research for this story had me looking into the world of Regency banking and investing, a fascinating subject. There were, in fact, many banks during the period that were owned or co-owned by women. The real-life Lady Jersey became fabulously wealthy when she inherited an interest in her grandfather’s bank.

As usual, my characters and story are entirely fictional, and any historical errors are mine alone.

Many thanks go to editor Tessa Shapcott, and as ever, I’m grateful to my late husband for his unfailing encouragement and support during the writing of this story.
