About the Author

Denise Sutherland is an Australian author, graphic designer, editor, indexer and puzzle writer. She is a member of the Institute of Professional Editors and the ACT Writers Centre.

Denise has been fascinated with puzzles and mysteries of all kinds since she was a child — not surprisingly, murder mysteries are her favourite novels to read. In recent years, she has been a regular on ABC radio, putting cryptic clues to the audience.

This book is Denise’s fourth title in the For Dummies series; her previous books are Solving Cryptic Crosswords For Dummies, Word Searches For Dummies and Cracking Codes and Cryptograms For Dummies (written with Mark Koltko-Rivera). She also writes non-fiction, especially in the scientific and medical fields. Denise’s website and blog can be found at sutherland-studios.com.au, and she would love to chat with you on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AussieNisi.

She lives in Canberra with her husband, and has two grown-up children and two cute chihuahuas. She loves knitting, cooking, and solving cryptic crosswords.
