Chapter 3

Easy Peasy Cryptics

IN THIS CHAPTER

check Getting stuck into some easy cryptic crosswords

I’ve done my best to write easy crosswords for you in this chapter. These crosswords have easy words in the grids and simpler vocabulary in the clues as well. Abbreviations are (hopefully) mostly pretty obvious. The clues use more anagrams and hidden word devices than normal, which are in general easier clues to solve. Many words in the clues are presented ‘in plain view’, and you don’t have to find synonyms for them. The grids are also smaller than a regular crossword (13 × 13, instead of 15 × 15). I hope you enjoy them!
