In this chapter I present you with a collection of ‘no holds barred’ cryptic crosswords. These have normal sized grids, and occasionally stray into more difficult vocabulary.

These puzzles have fewer anagram clues, and use a wider range of abbreviations.

Check the reference lists in Chapter 2 if you’re stuck, as the hard abbreviations and more unusual anagram indicators used in this chapter are included there.
