Mammi the Meddler’s Beef and Cheese Noodle Casserole

1 8-ounce package wide egg noodles
1 pound ground beef
¼ teaspoon salt
1 clove garlic, minced
2 8-ounce cans tomato sauce
1 cup sour cream
1 8-ounce package cream cheese
1 cup cottage cheese
1 yellow onion, diced
½ green pepper, diced
½ cup cheddar cheese, grated

Cook and drain noodles. Set aside. Brown ground beef, stir in salt and minced garlic. Add tomato sauce and simmer for a few minutes. In another bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese. Add onions and green pepper. In casserole, alternate layers of noodles, meat sauce, and cheeses. Top with grated cheddar cheese and bake at 350° for one hour. Serves 4–6.
