Thank you for reading a story in the Wild Sherwood series. I hope you’ve enjoyed dipping into the Robin Hood legends and this interpretation.
When first I added Faeries to this Wild Sherwood series, I merely wanted to increase the danger and mystery for the characters. Now I have a dozen stories with the Fae as pivotal characters, and I’m looking for more opportunities to add them.
From his first appearance, Fenric was an especially likeable character. A Fae sentry without great powers, he yet has enough to defeat a human spellweaver. Like Aubrette, who first appeared in “The Prize of a Golden Arrow”, Fenric and the other Fae open the potential for these stories.
The Wild Sherwood series is my personal spin on the Robin Hood legends. I particularly enjoy writing stories for the minor characters in the ballads and bringing additional ones into the outlaws of Sherwood Forest.
For various reasons, I began writing this Wild Sherwood series with short stories. The medieval world fascinates and appalls me, a time of magic and violence. The people of the past are just like us, with our dreams, our trials, our worries and cares. I hope you enjoy this venture into a magic-rich past.
