Spiced Egg Salad

Here is the classic egg salad with hints of turmeric, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika.

Ingredients

8 large hard-boiled eggs

34 cup homemade mayonnaise

14 teaspoon cayenne pepper

14 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt, or more to taste

Homemade Mayonnaise

Make sure to use homemade mayonnaise. Store-bought mayonnaise contains vinegar, which can produce excess mucus in the gut and contribute to inflammation. Homemade mayonnaise uses fresh lemon juice.

  1. In a large salad bowl, mash the eggs using an egg masher.
  2. Add the mayonnaise and stir to combine.
  3. Add the cayenne pepper, ginger, turmeric, paprika, pepper, and salt. Stir again to combine all ingredients.
  4. Serve.
