This is a basic gravy recipe, and it will take on the flavor of whatever meat drippings you use. It goes well over meat, potatoes, or as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets.
Makes a little over a cup.
Ingredients:
*meat drippings (enough to cover the bottom of the skillet)
*1 cup of water (or milk if you perfer a milk based gravy)
*1 or 2 teaspoons of potato flour (heaping)
*salt and pepper to season
Heat the meat drippings and sprinkle in the potato flour, stirring until it becomes a grainy paste. Add more potato flour if needed. Slowly add the cup of water (or milk) and turn the heat to medium high. Stirring often until the gravy is well blended and thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
This is the type of recipe you will have to eyeball it and add or take away ingredients as needed. Different meat drippings will react with the consistency, so play with the amounts until it turns out like you want.
