WHAT THEY ARE
Flours are grains that have been dried and ground into powder. For our purposes, flours also include oats, rice, and their respective brans, as well as dried legumes, like chickpeas or lentils. These ingredients provide a spectrum of lovely properties that contribute to both the therapeutic actions and the touch and feel of the product.
Beauty Tip!
Keep your flours away from direct sunlight and any moisture, since they can easily become compromised and go rancid.
HOW THEY ARE USED
Flours are best used in facial and body scrubs, cleansers, and masks. They are easy to work with and have a soft feel on the skin. You can grind your own oats into powder and then add it to a facial mask or cleanser to help balance out uneven skin tone and soothe irritation. Or you can add rice bran flour to boost the delivery of some essential fatty acids directly to the skin.
