WHAT THEY ARE
Fresh fruits and vegetables offer powerful results when used as ingredients in freshly prepared skincare recipes. Many of their components, like vitamins, nutrients, minerals, and enzymes, can feed the skin in many of the same ways that they nourish and strengthen our bodies. When fruits and vegetables are prepared correctly, which usually entails blending, grinding, and/or mashing, the skin can more easily absorb what it needs.

HOW THEY ARE USED
Fresh fruits and vegetables are best used in masks and scrubs. For example, blended berries can give an immediate boost to dull, tired skin, while freshly ground greens and herbs can infuse the cells of the skin with much-needed minerals and nutrients. You’ll find some specific fruits and vegetables mentioned in our recipes, but we also suggest you experiment with items you can find fresh at your local market—you can research their nutrition content and see how they might be used for skin health and healing.
