Chapter 17

Exercise

Create your own VIP experience.

Step 1

Brainstorm your VIP offering. Consider what you could do to thank and delight the small number of highly engaged members of your audience. It doesn’t have to be huge or extravagant to start. And don’t worry if you aren’t at the event-hosting stage (or don’t want to be). VIP experiences don’t have to be exclusive to in-person events. Do you sell digital products or online courses? If so, could you create a VIP version of those products that includes additional value, like access to you in some way—perhaps via a private webinar or livestream Q&A. What’s something you wish you could offer your entire community, but would be hard to give everyone? You could make this VIP experience something people have to pay for, or a bonus for something they’re already getting.

Step 2

Get feedback. Ask for input from mentors or your mastermind or other people you trust. Ask for input from your audience. It can be as simple and casual as, “Hey I’m thinking about making this extra offering available as a VIP version of my flagship product. What are your thoughts?”

Step 3

Finalize the details, make the offering available, and announce it to your audience! You may want to consider only sharing this opportunity with a select few in your audience, and even go as far as to make it invite-only first.
