Yellow bullheads have yellow to yellow-brown sides with no mottling. The chin barbels are whitish to pinkish; the upper barbels, brown. The anal fin has a straight lower edge and the tail is rounded. The world-record yellow bullhead weighed 4 pounds, 4 ounces. It was caught in Mormon Lake, Arizona, in 1984.
