Day 11
Expecting More Money
We saw yesterday that the key to attracting more money is to expect it. But you may be wondering how you can suddenly start expecting more money if the external evidence suggests otherwise.
So let’s start today by recapping that you can expect more money because so far you have:
Is it a coincidence that we find the money just when we need it? What about all those times when we don’t find money? If you set a clear enough intention and you truly expect the result, then you will always find the money. The trick, of course, is to manage your thoughts. You need thoughts of anticipation rather than hope. You need thoughts of expectation rather than desire.
Take the example of my friend Molly, a training consultant, who wished to be employed by one of the major banks. Molly stated her intention by writing herself a check from the bank in question for $300,000. She dated the check and pinned it on her notice board.
Two years later she realized that she had, in fact, attracted a total sum of $300,000 earnings from this particular bank over the previous two years. Looking at her notice board, Molly noticed that the check was dated for that year.
Case Study: Intention Releases Available Funds
Joanna decided to redecorate her main bedroom. Her intention was clear and she went ahead and started to clear the room in anticipation. The fact that Joanna didn’t have any spare money to pay for the redecoration did not deter her from her objective. She didn’t allow her circumstances to influence her thoughts. She expected to accomplish the task.
Imagine Joanna’s satisfaction when, on clearing the bedroom, she came across $600 cash on top of the wardrobe. It was the perfect amount to pay for her bedroom’s redecoration!
Your subconscious mind sees what it sees. What it sees influences the subconscious thought, which then endeavors to create the reality of what it sees. In the above example Molly’s subconscious mind saw the check and so expected it to be real. Her thoughts then set about creating that reality.
What are you looking at every day? Does it reflect the reality that you desire? How can you improve things?
As a Feng Shui consultant, I advise people on how their surroundings can support their desires. I am often called in when life is not running smoothly, and I’ll find the clues on the walls in the home.
Case Study: Art of Influence
Hannah and her husband were marketing consultants who had moved from Leeds, in the north of England, to London 10 months earlier. Unfortunately, they hadn’t been able to sell their beautiful five-bedroom home in Leeds. This meant they had the considerable expense of running two homes, and money seemed to be trickling away from Hannah and her husband.
When I visited the home in Leeds, I discovered a collection of old pictures lacking any color and featuring images of people weighed down by the burden of extreme poverty. They were very depressing.
Needless to say, I recommended their immediate removal, and the fortunes of Hannah and her husband improved. The house was sold and they were able to enjoy their new life in London.
Vision Boards
Why not collect images of how your life would look with more money? Collect images of experiences that make you smile and that you would like to attract into your life. Arrange them attractively on a board or in a picture frame so that you can glance at them every day. Then you can simply leave it to your subconscious to work out a way to attract those specific things, giving you a “nudge” along the way when you need to do something different.
In the film The Secret, we see James Ray moving into a spectacular new house. Among the boxes being unpacked, his son discovers James’ old vision boards. On one of the vision boards, made some years earlier, is a picture of the exact house that has just become their new home.
Create yourself a vision board and get yourself into a position where you expect riches!
Case Study: Vision Boards Do Work
Mitch in Canada is an agent for aspiring authors. He keeps a vision board in his office, where he collects pictures of everything that he wishes to experience in his life. On it were pictures of the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, and Jamaica. He also had the name of a specific cruise liner.
One day he received a call from his client and friend, Peggy, inviting him to join her on a cruise. Have you guessed?
The cruise ship was visiting the exact destinations featured on Mitch’s vision board! It even turned out to be the exact cruise company that was featured on Mitch’s vision board.
Of course, one of the best ways to influence your thoughts is through the language you use. This brings us neatly to the next chapter, and how you can change your language to attract more money.
The money is already there. The only thing preventing you from being rich is you.
