Day 16

Following Your Passion

Today our subject is following your passion. This is the master route to becoming a Money Magnet. Anything less than this and the money manifested is likely to be temporary. Congratulations on reaching this part of the book and this point in your life.

As we have seen, you can attract money by setting an intention, by performing a ceremony, and by doing something different from your normal routine. You can start expecting to be rich and you can change your language and behaviors accordingly, but until you clear the clutter that’s keeping you from your heart’s desires, any money you attract will be just that, money. And as money is energy, it can disappear as soon it arrives, unless you uncover your own stream of abundance.

We have determined that money is received in exchange for value. Finding your gifts to the world and the best way to add real value is the secret to feeling truly fulfilled and wealthy in every sense. When you lift yourself toward your highest potential, you can become a Money Magnet. Funnily enough, the money arrives almost as an afterthought, as you become driven less by money and more by passion.

Money is worthless in itself. Someone stranded on a remote island for the rest of her life would be silly to wish to be a Money Magnet in those circumstances. Money flows to us when we are in our flow. We receive rewards for living at our highest possible potential, whatever that may be. A desire for money can distract us from our true passion, but it can also inspire us to lift our game in life and be all that we were born to be.

How do you find your passion? How do you find your flow? The answer to finding your flow is to follow what makes you happy.

“Well,” I hear you ask. “If it’s that easy, why aren’t we all richer?”

The answer is that most of us think we are doing what we want to do, but we are actually just playing it safe. It is a basic human need to want to be safe. We learned at a young age how to keep our main provider happy. Mummy was happy when we did what she wanted us to do. With our basic needs at stake, we learned how to please others from very early on and, in time, those other voices became so many that they drowned out the sound of our own personal and authentic voice. It is not surprising in this context that many people lose sight of their own identity.

Fortunately, this way of living is difficult and exhausting to sustain and so, sooner or later, many of us will experience what I refer to as a mid-life wake-up call. This is the moment when you catch a glimpse of your true self and from which there is no turning back.

The Mid-life Wake-up Call

How many people do you know who have ended up in a career because someone else, somewhere along the line, recommended it as the ideal route for them to take? It may have been a parent, a guardian, a peer, or a teacher. They took the recommended option, only to “wake up” mid-life and realize that it wasn’t what they would have chosen for themselves. They are the lucky ones. Some people persevere in a job and live a life full of regret. Remember, you can’t take the money with you.

Recently I was coaching Rachael, a woman in her sixties who had just “woken up.” She remembered going to a public phone box at the age of 15 to make a call to a local rock band looking for a lead singer. She never made that call. When we explored her true desires, being a professional singer was still top of her list. The only difference was that now she was learning to trust herself and to honor her heart’s desires. She knew that it might not always be plain sailing up ahead, but turning her back on herself again was no longer an option for her. Rachael is finally focusing on what truly makes her happy.

It’s amazing how committed you will be to a task when you are fuelled by passion!

Finding out what really makes us happy can be challenging. One of the ways to get clearer on what you want is to start by looking at what you don’t want.

Exercise: Finding Out What You Want
(by Looking at What You Don’t Want!)

Make a list of all the things currently in your life that you don’t want: a boss you don’t like, large household bills, a relationship that is going nowhere. It is important that you now rewrite your list, but this time reframe each item into a positive statement of what you do want: a great boss, enough money to do whatever you’d like to do, a committed loving relationship. As you write out each new positive statement, cross out the item above that you didn’t want.

Forget the Money and Focus on Your Passion

You are reading a book entitled 21 Days to Master Becoming a Money Magnet and I am telling you to forget the money! Yes, that’s right. By all means set an intention of how much money you wish to manifest, and take responsibility for how much money you currently have. Follow all the steps in this book so far. And then be prepared to let go of your financial dream and to trust that when you follow your passion, it will happen.

Miracle Club

Two years ago I received the inspiration for Miracle Club. It was to be a worldwide network of people supporting each other to achieve their full potential. Combining the principle of the Law of Attraction with the practice of group coaching sessions, it would create a haven of positive thought. It was a brilliant vision and I told everyone I knew about Miracle Club.

I registered the company and I bought the domain name www.miracleclub.com, and then I was advised to do a business plan to work out how it was going to earn me some money. Nothing happened. I never seemed to have the time or the confidence to get round to doing this business plan. I was distracted by so many other things and by what everyone else around me was doing.

Miracles happen when you follow your passion!

One day I finally realized that I really was the happiest I could ever be when I was inspiring others to believe in themselves and in their dreams. Whenever one of my students told me another story of his or her success, my heart seemed to explode with joy. So instead of asking, “How can I earn money from this?” I asked myself a different question: “How can I make a real difference using my skill and passion?”

I realized that the people who needed Miracle Club the most were those with the least money to pay for it. I wanted to reach the people who had given up on their dreams, who had lost their jobs and who had no money. Once I was clear on what I really wanted, I set an intention to attract funding for Miracle Club. Within a week, I found a sponsor to fund places on Miracle Club ... and Miracle Club was officially born!

Now is the time to find your passion and to let it explode into a gift for the rest of humanity. You were not born to play small or to live a boring life. You have a natural desire to be happy and to grow into your full potential. Now is the time to wake up and start getting excited about every single day of your life!

The money is already there. The only thing preventing you from being rich is you.
