Chapter 41

They were back at the apartment by six o’clock, and Janet was fuming. Inside, she paced as she thought.

Is it better to return Cliff’s Jeep to his house or leave it in some random place?

“Mom, stop pacing already. You’re making me dizzy. So, what should we do with the Jeep?”

Janet poured a shot of vodka and gulped it. “They already know who he is and where he lives. Damn it, we should have smashed his face in. He would have deserved it, anyway.”

“Then the best place to leave the Jeep is right in his own driveway. Why give the cops anything else to work with? We’ll stick to the plan and drop it off later tonight. Right now, let’s find another lonely man who’s looking for a date.”

Janet smirked. “And he won’t get off as easy as Cliff and Robert did. When we’re done with him, there won’t be anything left above his shoulders that’s recognizable.”
