Hmmm… I’m guessing you guys have got this far by now and are maybe wondering if I’m going to mention a certain someone?
My very own Greek god, ha ha. Mike Thalassitis. You may know him better as Muggy Mike from Love Island. But to me, he’s definitely not muggy. For one of our first proper dates, he whisked me away to Amsterdam for a romantic weekend. I know you guys were thinking, ‘Who is she away with?’ when you saw my pictures but, for once in my life, I knew this was something special and I really wanted to keep it to myself. Yeah, I probably could have swerved putting the rose petal picture on Instagram, but I was genuinely so excited, and I just had to share it. Come on, who doesn’t like a little fairytale?
It wasn’t long before a few people saw us out there and it soon got to the papers. I suppose this is the game we’re both in, but it didn’t ruin our time away. It was the most romantic break I’ve ever had.
By the time we got back from Amsterdam, I’m not going to lie, I’d already fallen, and fallen hard. Naturally, we just started to see each other every day, and up to now, apart from the odd work thing here and there, we’ve not spent a day apart.
As you can see from my Instagram, we do both love a holiday. So far, we’ve been to Barbados and Cyprus, and our pictures usually get splashed over the papers. The thing that really bugs me is when I see comments saying things like, ‘Surely this is fake,’ or ‘Really? They’re only going to last two minutes.’
Well, all I can say to those people is, I haven’t had the best luck in relationships, so I’m not about to give my heart to something that’s not genuine.
The good thing is, he’s come along at a time when I am determined to not have my private life quite so public any more, and he feels the same. We’re not one of those couples that needs to be out and about, being seen, we keep ourselves to ourselves, and one of the things I love best about being with him is that we don’t need to be doing something glamorous to have the best time.
Like, we have these little cooking nights. Yes, he loves to cook. And if any of you follow me on Snapchat, you know I love to cook too. So we have our little nights, cooking dinner, playing music and trying out new recipes. (He even makes me gluten-free fried chicken, what a keeper!)
We also love to party, and there’s nothing better than being out with him, him being taller than me, putting his arm around me, and making me feel like I’m the only girl in the room. One of our favourite things is dancing to MK, and I’d definitely say ‘17’ is our favourite song. Weird shit keeps happening with that song. Recently, I was at my restaurant and it came on. So obviously I voice-noted it to Mike, as you do, and he called me straight away. He said, ‘That’s so weird, I was just singing that song, thinking of you.’ It’s the little things, but these little things keep happening. Would you call that fate? I would.
And it’s not just the song thing, trust me, there have been loads of things like that. Sometimes I sit there and think, ‘Wow, how many signs am I going to get that this is meant to be?’
What else can I tell you? The way we kiss, it’s just… UNREAL. We just click, and I feel lucky that someone I love this much treats me so well and loves me the same back. I was starting to think, ‘Am I ever going to find that? Surely I deserve it.’ But now I have it, and there are loads more memories I want to make with this boy. He’s everything I ever dreamed of. It’s true what they say. If you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, it’s definitely also a case of, you don’t know what you’ve been missing until it arrives.
