TERMS

 

 

Amazon – An organization of female assassins. Trained from when they were children, they have no morals and they will take any job from anyone as long as their fees are met.

 

Angel – A winged creature of ‘purity’. They can tell when someone is lying, cannot lie themselves, and can shoot a blinding light from their palms that has the power to burn the souls of demons.

 

Archangel – Six black-winged angels who are tasked with policing the gods and holding order and justice in the Seven Planes. Light cannot exist without darkness.

 

Atlantian – The ancestors of humans. Illegally created by Prometheus, they were then hunted down like animals by the gods. They were believed to be extinct before Charlie was discovered.

 

Berserker – There is only one family of berserkers and Tegan Jólfrson’s family, which consists of him, seven older sisters, and his parents, is it. Once they enter a Rage, they will kill anything and everything they see.

 

Descendant – A child whose parents are both gods, but is not a god themselves. They were made infertile by the archangels.

 

Deusychosis Plague – A deadly disease that wiped out almost everyone on Perspic, causing the plane’s portals to be permanently closed. It only targets persapics, but it can give them the power of a god, allowing them to bend reality…for a week anyway. Then they’ll die. It’s highly transferrable.

 

Drazic Demon – A red-skinned demon with horns and fangs, both of which grow as they age. They’re reckless and stubborn but hold loyalty above all.

 

Deusychosis Plague – A deadly disease that wiped out almost everyone on Perspic, causing the plane’s portals to be permanently closed. It only targets persapics, but it can give them the power of a god, allowing them to bend reality…for a week anyway. Then they’ll die. It’s highly transferrable.

 

Echidna – A monster/killing machine that speaks using a mode of telepathy. Due to this, their human forms are mute.

 

Elementalist – A person with the ability to control one of the four elements: water, earth, air, or fire. If strong enough, a person can control their element in all its forms, but there isn’t a single person that can wield more than one element.

 

Elv’ve’Norc – A mythical special ops organization tasked with protecting the Seven Planes. It was founded by Tegan Jólfrson three and a half thousand years ago, when Sebastian the Ancient Destroyer and Rakian the Call of Ragnarok had started their war. A member of the Elv’ve’Norc is called an Elv’ve’Nor.

 

Hel’s Exit – The backdoor to Niflhel. Souls continuously try to escape back into the world of the living here. It’s guarded by the Heldron royal family and will ring anytime there’s a breach.

 

Incubus – A male creature who survives through sex, their power and ‘food’ coming from the act. Other races are also subconsciously hesitant to attack them, giving them the illusion of being ‘extremely lucky’ when slicing through an army of warriors. A female of this creature is called a succubus.

 

Phasing – Teleporting, regardless of distance. A person must either know the place they’re phasing to or be told of it in great detail. Other people can be taken with them, though they suffer side effects such as headaches, nausea, and occasionally death. Most people with this ability can only phase from inside a plane, but those strong enough can phase from one plane to another.

 

Telepath – One with the ability to communicate through their mind. They can also force people to do as they command, as well as create bleeds in the brain.

 

Trickster – A creature capable of creating illusions and shapeshifting. Their objects of illusions are just that – illusions. They mimic an object in every sense, but they do not have a physical body.

 

Scrolls of Atlantis – A book of unspeakable power, written by Prometheus, who stole the wisdom from the well of Mimir, the same well Odin sacrificed his eye to in exchange for knowledge. Its pages don’t just hold the secrets of life. They are the secrets of life. It can only be read by Atlantians.

 

Seven Planes – The seven worlds where creatures created by the gods live. They are: Earth, Gaera, Halzaja, Persic,  Blódyrió, Konistra, and Alazul.

 

Shadow Walkers – Creatures with the ability to morph into and control shadows. They cannot be harmed while in shadow form, but they can consume shadows, which will kill their victims given the soul is attached to the shadow.

 

Skinwalker – Born from the shadows of titans, these monstrous creatures have the ability to skin their victims alive and then don it like clothing. They will then look and sound exactly like their victims.

 

Vampire – There are two types: born or sired. A born vampire is able to walk in direct sunlight with only mild discomfort and has the ability to phase. They are also stronger and faster. Sired vampires are created by born vampires through a biting and exchanging of blood ritual. They are infertile and their bodies ‘freeze in time’ at their point of rebirth. They awake in a frenzy and will kill whoever is nearby in their need to feed.

 

Werewolf – A bipolar monster roughly resembling a wolf. Their bite is poisonous to vampires. Their ability to follow a scent is unmatched.

CHARACTERS

 

 

Adriel – Heldron king mourning his dead wife and family. Rules over Heldron and helps protect Hel’s Exit. A drazic demon.

 

Aisla – A hotheaded fey and member of the Elv’ve’Norc. Half of her team was killed by Sebastian and Elizabeth.

 

Cariad – The last member of his team. An Elv’ve’Nor who should be on temporary leave while he deals with his grief, but he happened to be nearby when Rogan and his team needed backup on  Blódyrió. An incubus.

 

Charlie – The only known Atlantian. Jack’s lifemate and mother to Tony.

 

Dalghizar – Tegan’s blood-brother. A half-werewolf, half-vampire hybrid hunted for being a monstrosity.

 

Delentia – A meddling, sightseeing goddess who may or may not be mad. Her plans are known only to herself.

 

Dominix – An echidna, mute as all her kind is. Currently traveling through Volskera, searching for any infected telepaths. Teammate to Rico and Aisla.

 

Elizabeth – A descendant, daughter to Aphrodite and Hades. Controlled by Sebastian due to her curse, she is forced to obey his every command. She has the power to kill with a single touch, to raise the dead, and manipulate emotions. Emma’s younger twin sister.

 

Emma – A descendant, daughter of Hades and Aphrodite, with the power to kill with a single touch, control the dead, and can force people to do whatever she wants. Rogan’s lifemate. Elizabeth’s older twin sister.

 

Gabriel – An archangel who’s in love with Xeno. They have a rocky history, and it’s because of that that he’s helping the Elv’ve’Norc more than he should. He did something to Xeno to help her stop her fall.

 

Galvanor – A secret child of three: someone with the abilities of a telepath, astralist, and telekinetic. Everyone but Tegan believes him to be a telepath only. Matakyli’s lifemate. Member of Rogan’s team.

 

Hunter – A tech whizz curious about everything. Member of Rogan’s team. Human.

 

Jack  - Once believed to be a trickster, he is now known to be the god, Fenrir. Son to Loki. He’s Lycra’s lifemate, but Charlie’s husband. Member of Rogan’s team.

 

Kaide –  An Elv’ve’Nor Reaper. He and his twin brother, Kasem, go in when things are too fucked up to send anyone else. A teleporting swordsman.

Kasem – An Elv’ve’Nor Reaper. He and his twin brother, Kaide, go in when things are too fucked up to send anyone else. A teleporting swordsman.

 

Lamia – Sebastian’s only remaining blood relative. A born vampire devoted to his cause.

 

Lucille – A young sired vampire. Sebastian is believed to have created her. Currently imprisoned in the Heldron dungeons.

 

Lycra – Head of the Amazon compound in Heldon. She is often hired by Sebastian. A shadow walker and Jack’s lifemate.

 

Lylel – Born as a slave, he is now king of Lilithall. A born vampire and Phoebe’s friend.

 

Matakyli – Fourth in line to the Heldron throne and a guardian to the backdoor of Niflhel. A drazic demon, and lifemate to Galvanor.

 

Nivan – One of Matakyli’s best friends. Despite being fourth in line to the Zaknad throne, he was being trained by Adriel to take his place as Heldron king. But then he was taken by Sebastian. Infected with the Deusychosis Plague, he is a danger to everyone. A drazic demon. Currently missing.

 

Phoebe – Tegan’s charge. A woman capable of causing riots when her powers grow out of control. Tegan’s lifemate.

 

Pyro – Second in line to the Heldron throne. A drazic demon and guardian to Hel’s Exit.

 

Rahu – Third in line to the Heldron throne. He’s currently recovering from extensive burns, having used himself to close the gates of Niflhel. A drazic demon and guardian to Hel’s Exit.

 

Rakian – A descendant killed over three thousand years ago by Sebastian. Tortured all this time in the afterlife, he is now a feral beast. Son to Loki and Morrighan.

 

Rico – An alpha werewolf and Elv’ve’Nor. Teammate to Aisla and Dominix. Last seen on Blódyrió, feral due to Elizabeth’s powers. Currently missing, believed/feared to be dead.

 

Rogan – Head of the Retrieval Elv’ve’Norc team. A water elementalist and Emma’s lifemate.

 

Sebastian – A sadistic, clever vampire who wants to destroy the Seven Planes and reshape them in his image. He tried once three and a half thousand years ago, but his plans were thwarted by Delentia.

 

Tegan – Head of the Elv’ve’Norc. A berserker and Phoebe’s lifemate.

Tony – A four year old traumatized boy. He was held captive and tortured by Sebastian for weeks. Half-human, half-Atlantian. Charlie’s son.

 

Xeno – An angel in the midst of her fall. Once she loses her wings, she’ll never get them back. Member of Rogan’s team.
