“Touch me, Ma’laakki,” I whispered. “You know you want to.”
I could see the very moment my words affected her. This slip of a female, creature, whatever she was. She may not have understood a word I said, but something within her soul recognized me as surely as I recognized her.
I knew what she was the minute she opened her eyes. I felt it, like an explosion in my chest, pressing against my beating hearts. A place that had been empty was suddenly filled with the promising light of the Yikkala and Yikla coming together. I knew then what she was to me.
