PROJECT 16
CORK KEYCHAIN
Finished Keychain
Having fun on the water is something most kids love to do. Boating, rafting, tubing, or just wading in a creek are all fun ways to spend hot summer days.
However, a good way to ruin the fun is to see your keys sink into the murky depths. Many people prevent this by purchasing a floating keychain for their boat and truck keys.
Fortunately, you don’t have to purchase a floating fob, as you can easily make one with a cork and a small eyehook.
This won’t hold a maintenance man’s key ring above water, but it will hold your boat, truck, and house keys.
Material:
1. Cork
2. Small Eyehook
3. Key ring
Procedure:
1. Get a long shanked eyehook, and screw it through the center of the cork.
2. Attach a split ring to the eye.
3. Thread on your keys.
Lessons Learned:
Besides thinking ahead to prevent problems rather than having to deal with the consequences, this project makes a great gift for a boat owner.
