NOTES FROM THE IMPERIAL ACADEMY

The denizens of the Kingdom of Corel place the accent on the second syllable and it rhymes with “hell,” not “laurel.” One of these words connotes a heathen place of fiery torment and despair where one is exiled as a punishment, while the other is a forgotten accolade of dubious worth worn like a crown long after the leaves have withered and died. Dear traveler, you will find elements of both in the wild land of Corel, but given the preponderance of dragons in that wretched kingdom, the former is more appropriate.
