The epistle of Paul to the churches in Galatia:
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain?3:1–4
Ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.3:26–28
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the others; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.5:16–17
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness . . . envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like. . . . But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.5:16–23
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.6:7
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.6:9
