The RAVEN

The raven is the largest member of the crow family - huge,
even bigger than a buzzard. These powerful and imposing
birds often appear in literature, and are frequently imbued
with symbolic power.

As many of you will know, the Tower of London has a
resident gang of six tame ravens. There is a legend that if
the ravens leave the Tower, then the monarchy will end.
That's it, Your Majesty, game over. It's just a superstition, but
the guardians of these birds aren't taking any chances. The
ravens' flight feathers are clipped so they can't fly off - just in
case, Ma'am.
