Here are the bare facts of the sinking of the Lusitania posted 3 June 1915, a month after the tragedy. The sinking of this neutral ship, with its many American passengers, was one of the major factors in America’s decision finally to enter the War. The Germans had warned America of the resumption of unrestricted U-Boat warfare, but the ship sailed in spite of the risk. Although denied by the Allies, it has since been suggested by witnesses on board that the Lusitania was both armed and carrying ammunitions. British: (Pub. Millar & Lang.)
