Choose a replicated volume when there is no need for extreme performance. Select the number of replicas based on how many nodes or bricks the volume should tolerate. Consider that using a higher replica number will decrease the amount of available space, but increase the availability of the volume.
The following example shows that losing a node in a replicated volume does not disrupt volume operations:
